A Torism Object Kelingking Beach Nusa Penida Bali

Kelingking Beach Nusa Penida ( Golden Egg of Bali ) - is not only just a great place to take photos. It also has an intense 40 minute hike that will lead you to an incredible white sand beach situated at the very bottom. We would recommend spending all day exploring the coastal cliff views as well as relaxing at the pristine beach.

What to expect at Kelingking Beach Nusa Penida

The Viewpoints

Kelingking Beach Nusa Penida has multiple viewpoints where you can capture various angles of the famous T Rex shaped cliff. The most popular point is a few minutes down the stairs on the way to the beach. Here you can get a great angle as you walk down the stairs with the giant T Rex cliff in the distance.

Another great viewpoint is located to the right of Kelingking Beach. Instead of heading down, walk along the cliffs to the right. You’ll come across a large opening where you can get a clear view of the T Rex cliff. Most people don’t bother to venture away from the main stairs so this spot is fairly quiet. This perspective allows you to see Kelingking from an angle that not everyone else will get to see. It also allows you to capture more of the bright white sand and turquoise waters at the bottom of the cliff.

The Hike

The Kelingking Beach hike was without a doubt the most challenging hike that we’ve ever done. Reaching the bottom is incredibly rewarding although it is hard work. From the top of the cliff it will take roughly 40 minutes to reach the bottom. The railings aren’t very sturdy as they are made out of sticks which have been tied together with some rope. There were many times where we would grab the railings and it would be completely wobbly. The path down is mainly large rocks and sticks which make up incredibly steep steps. This makes it fairly difficult to have solid footing on the walk down and it’s also dusty so take your time getting down. Some of us managed to do the hike in flip flops, although it would’ve been a lot easier with solid shoes.

The Beach

Arriving at the beach is the most magical part about visiting Kelingking. The blue crystal clear water and pristine white sand will be your reward after the long hike. This beach is so unique due to the large cliffs which surround you from all angles like a cove. When we visited, the tide was very rough and the waves were huge. It’s best not to attempt going into the water if you’re not a strong swimmer. To the left and right of the beach are giant caves where you can sit out of the sun or take photos from a different angle. There is also a small stall where you can purchase some refreshments for the hike back up. It’s a little more expensive as a small bottle of water will cost you 10K IDR.
